Mrs.Kala Gopinath's Home

Set right in the city centre, near the Racecourse of Bangalore, is this new villa with its own mini world ! Huge jackfruit tree conserved and potentially used to get a view from the bedrooms and block the road junction round the building corner. Mrs.Kala Gopinath loves to garden and you see pockets of garden on each side of the house.
As you pass through the low height lobby with tile filled ceiling, you enter into a high vaulted roof living room, which makes it the coolest space. Do lend an eye to the yellow paint on the entrance door threshold, reminding us of our tradition. The free flowing horizontal pointing on the living room wall walks you through the house into the central court, defined by the stone pillars and lovely teracotta floor. Seated in the centre is an inherited piece of swing drawing all the power from the pyramidical skylight above it! Kitchen loves the light from sky directly! The Mud plastered wall awaits for its painting...
